Summer - Winter

Do you love a winter scenery, severe frost and activities in the snow or on the ice? Värmland has got it all.

The real winter sports fanatic can find it all in one of the close by skiing areas or activity centres.

You can drive in 30-50 minutes to Hovfjallet near Torsby, Ski Sunne or even the big ski resort Branäs a bit more north for a wonderful day out on the snow.

Cross country skiing can be practised all around and there are even tracks with lights in the evening near Ekshärad and Hagfors. In the Torsby cross country tunnel you can even get on the snow all year around.

A Husky tour with sledge dogs is an experience you won't easily forget. At the  Husky farm you can find it all.

Ice skating is possible on one of the many lakes around the area. There are always lakes where they keep the tracks free from snow.

Love the woods in wintertime? Try some snowshoe walking. It can be really exhausting but the reward of the best scenery is worth the effort. Snowshoes are available in the shop.

Fishing in wintertime is a complete different experience then in summer time. Drill you own hole and make your own little fire when you are waiting for.....yeh!....got one! In the shop we have all the right materials.

In winter time you can find the tracks of wild animals much easier than during summer time. The snow is an easy give away. So, go out and find all kinds of tracks. Only the bear tracks will be a problem. They prefer to sleep during the winter season.

The biggest winter event is the Swedish Rally in February. The apartment is right in the middle of all the action. From all over the world the professional teams come to Värmland to take part in the first stages of the World Rally Championship (and driven on snow).
